2 jailed, woman hospitalized after east valley shooting

An 18-year-old female was hospitalized and two individuals were detained Sunday afternoon after a shooting in a east valley community, Las Vegas cops stated.

Metro officers were called simply after 2 p.m. to the 4500 block of Fireside Lane, near East Bonanza Roadway and North Lamb Boulevard, where bystanders informed cops two ladies had actually been battling when among them was shot, department representative Lt. Bruce Miyama said.

The lady had actually been fighting in the middle of the street on Doig Lane, one street over from Fireside, with a large group gathered around them, when a guy in a silver sedan pulled up to the group, left the vehicle and fired multiple shots, Miyama stated.

Among the shots hit the 18-year-old in the upper torso, he said. She ran to Fireside and was later on taken to University Medical Center with injuries that were not deadly. She is in stable condition, Miyama said.

The other female involved in the battle got into the male’s automobile and the two got away. They were arrested an hour later on about 2 miles from the shooting, at 1750 Marion Drive, near Owens Opportunity.

Metro investigators think the shooting was gang-related, Miyama stated.
