'' America ' s Got Skill ' airs audition of candidate who passed away

LOS ANGELES– “America’s Got Skill” has actually aired the audition of an entrant who passed away in a vehicle accident last month.

Dr. Brandon Rogers, a family physician from Portsmouth, Virginia, tried out for the show in March. He made a standing ovation and a journey through to the next round of the NBC truth competition after singing Stevie Wonder’s “Ribbon in the Sky.”

The 29-year-old died following a June 10 cars and truck accident in Maryland. Cops said he was a traveler in the car that drifted off the roadway and hit a tree.

The show stated it aired the audition Tuesday at the request of Rogers’ family.

Rogers sang with Boyz II Guys during a series of Las Vegas performances earlier this year. The group commemorated him on Instagram following his death.
