MEXICO CITY– Joan Sebastian, among Mexico’s terrific ballad singers, passed away Monday at age 64.
An agent of Universal Music Latin Entertainment-Fonovisa verified his death, however did not define the cause. Sebastian had fought cancer for several years.
He was very well known for emotional love tunes like “Tatuajes” and “Secreto de Amor,” occasionally set to basic guitar arrangements and often sung on horseback.
Sebastian won 5 Grammy awards and seven Latin Grammy rewards during his career.
