The Fountains of Bellagio is amongst the top draws for visitors to the Las Vegas Strip. It also drew the attention of authorities on Thursday night after a male was seen jumping into the body of water from which the fountain’s show is created.
Lt. Shane Womack, of Las Vegas City authorities, said the man was jailed after he stripped off his clothing and ran around the normally off-limits area.
Security officers at the Bellagio hotel-casino were helped by Clark County Fire Department and City to retrieve the man, Womack said. The guy was then recovered in a boat, which he harmed, according to cops.
Womack likewise said the guy damaged water lines that are utilized for the nighttime fountain programs.
Cops on Friday recognized the guy as Manuel Acevedo-Gutierrez, 39, who was booked into Clark County Detention Center on a count of felony destructive destruction of personal property. It was not immediately known if the guy was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
According to Acevedo-Gutierrez’s arrest report, as he was averting police he stood on equipment and pulled on lights, spouts and other structures, all the while yelling. The Bellagio approximated damages at $5,500. While police were obtaining Acevedo-Gutierrez, an officer’s bullet-proof vest was damaged when it was exposed to chlorinated water. That vest expense $700.
A tourist taped a few of the minutes of the incident and posted video of it on Twitter.
