Authorities: Male shot, killed sweetheart in apparent murder-suicide in southwest Las Vegas

Officers responded to reports of two individuals found with gunshot wounds at 11:31 a.m. at an apartment building in the 7600 block of South Rainbow Boulevard, near Robindale Road on Thursday.

Inning accordance with a release, officers found a departed males and female in an apartment or condo unit. Metro detectives were contacted us to the scene and they identified the shooting was a murder-suicide.

Cops stated the suspect, 25-year-old Diosdan Benitez-Cruz, shot and killed 20-year-old Claudia Cordero-Garcia then turned the weapon on himself. Benitez-Cruz and the victim were dating and cohabiting.
