CHARLESTON, S.C.– Authorities say they are examining a possible “active shooter” circumstance in downtown Charleston, South Carolina.
Police spokesman Charles Francis said a shooting was reported just after twelve noon on King Street, which is a row of restaurant and stores where tourists regularly collect.
He did not instantly report any injuries or info about a possible suspect. No other details were instantly offered.
Tom and Patsy Plant told The Post and Carrier of Charleston they were consuming at Virginia’s dining establishment and saw a man come out of the kitchen with a gun in his hand and said “there’s a brand-new manager in town.”
The couple said they overlooked a back door.
