LAS VEGAS( FOX5)-. A Las Vegas Detention Center corrections officer passed away soon after he was involved in a battle with a prisoner, the City of Las Vegas said Monday. The city verified the information after the Las Vegas Metropolitan authorities department published a Facebook post about Eng’s procession Monday and mentioned the battle in the post description. Someone later on edited the post.
City of Las Vegas spokesperson Jace Radke released a declaration Monday afternoon regarding the occurrence.
We have gotten several media queries today relating to a Metro Police Facebook post following the funeral service of city Corrections Officer Kyle Eng. The city of Las Vegas can verify that Officer Eng was associated with a minor incident with an inmate in the city prison prior to him being carried to the medical facility. Nevertheless, we can not verify whether or not this event had anything to do with the cause of death, which is yet to be totally identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
City of Las Vegas authorities stated someone found Eng unconscious at the prison July 19. Doctors pronounced Eng dead at the medical facility.
” My daddy was a blessing to anyone he encountered,” Eng’s youngest child Alyssa said at his funeral service Monday. “He was one of those individuals who would put a smile on your face.”
A couple hundred visitors collected at Canyon Ridge Christian Church Monday for Eng’s funeral service. His three children along with numerous colleagues shared stories about Eng and said their final farewells.
” Among the important things I loved most about my dad was his desire to help others anyhow he could. He was a strong person and people would rely on him in times of requirement.”
The Clark County Coroner’s Workplace has not launched the cause or manner of death for Eng.
