City looking for driver in fatal pedestrian hit-and-run near Maryland Parkway

. A pedestrian is dead and a driver is being looked for by authorities after a hit-and-run crash near Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Road early today, according to Metro Police.

Officers and medics were summoned about 2:35 a.m. to the southbound lanes of Algonquin Drive, simply north of Flamingo, and tended to a mortally injured guy on the roadway, cops said.

The victim, who investigators hadn’t had the ability to identify a couple of hours after the crash and who is thought to be in his 40s, died at Dawn Medical facility and Medical Center, cops said.

The pedestrian was beyond a crosswalk when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle driven by an unknown suspect who left the scene after impact, authorities said. A passerby reported the incident to police after seeing a guy resting on the street.
