netted four arrests near Vegas and Rancho drives, Capt. Kelly McMahill stated. No one was wounded. Officers were dispatched about 4:15 p.m. to a short-term rental complex in the 2200 block of Rancho, McMahill said.

A guard called 911 four women who seemed intending to steal an automobile. When officers showed up, the suspects delved into a separate cars and truck and scampered, McMahill stated. Police didn’t engage in a pursuit per department policy. However, the women dumped the vehicle and an officer who was canvassing the location encountered among the suspects strolling near the crossway of Vegas and Sundown drives and gave her commands to walk to the front of his team vehicle. She disobeyed the command a number of times and pulled a gun out of either a bag or backpack and shot toward the officer who returned fire, McMahill stated. The lady got away but was apprehended

about a block away by reacting officers, McMahill said. The officer who fired his weapon suffered a fall and was being examined at University Medical Center Wednesday night. Officers recovered a gun, which was later figured out to be taken, in a trash can near the shooting scene, McMahill stated. 2 other women likewise were jailed at a nearby gambling establishment and the fourth was taken into custody in the

area numerous hours later, authorities stated. None of the ladies was determined Wednesday night and it wasn’t right away clear exactly what charges

they will be facing. This was the seventh shooting involving Metro Police this year.
