Cops: Roomie eliminated in yard shooting at west Las Vegas home

( Gai Phanalasy/FOX5). LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -. Las Vegas City police said they are examining a shooting that left a male dead Monday early morning in west Las Vegas. The occurrence occurred shortly before 11 a.m. in the yard of the home in the 9700 block of Powell Plateau Court, near Hacienda Opportunity and Grand Canyon Drive, inning accordance with police.

Lt. Ray Spencer, of City’s Murder unit, stated a roommate received a call from another roommate of the house mentioning he was involved in a shooting. The roommate stated he shot another male who resides in your home. Officers were dispatched to the home and formed a rescue group to obtain to the victim, who remained in the backyard of the home.

The victim, referred to as a man in his late 30’s, was required to University Medical Center with a minimum of one gunshot injury to the head, Spencer said. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The suspect, described as an Asian man in his late 40’s, surrendered to police and was apprehended at the scene, Spencer stated.

Spencer stated private investigators think there was an altercation before the shooting.
