( WPVI-TV via CNN). (Meredith/AP)– It was a flying frankfurter and not a nasty ball that left a baseball fan with a shiner in Philadelphia. Kathy McVay stated she was at Monday night’s Phillies video game when the team’s

mascot, the Phillie Phanatic, rolled out his hotdog launcher. McVay was sitting near home plate and, she stated, all of a sudden a hot dog wrapped in duct tape struck her in the face.

” He shot it in our direction … and bam! It struck me like a lots of bricks,” she informed regional outlet WPVI-TV.” I would understand a baseball, however not a hot dog.”

McVay said she is struggling with a shoulder injury, so she was unable to whack the hotdog away. She left the game to get checked out and was diagnosed with a small hematoma.

She said she doesn’t prepare to take any legal action and comprehends if the freak mishap makes some people giggle.

” It offers people a great laugh,” McVay told the station. “And if it makes somebody chuckle, then that’s fine.”

The Phillies asked forgiveness to McVay on Tuesday and the team has provided her tickets to any game.
