First Friday downtown will go on as prepared

First Friday, the monthly arts celebration downtown, will be presented as set up, organizers said on Tuesday.

“First Friday is exceptionally saddened by the current events, and our hearts and ideas go out to the victims and liked ones of this senseless violence in our neighborhood,” stated a statement from First Friday organizers.

“The resounding message we’re speaking with our neighborhood of creators and caring humans is that we will not reside in worry,” the declaration continued. “We can’t let the actions of one, or a few, subdue the desire and need for the lots of to come together.”

This Friday will be the 15th anniversary of First Friday. Each October’s style is ‘One World Through Art,’ promoting peace, love, and unity.

First Friday is working with police and regional authorities to increase security procedures and assist make sure public safety.
