Guy jailed in partner'' s death declared shooting was unintentional

. A guy who informed investigators his estranged spouse was wounded in an unintentional shooting throughout a battle over a weapon in her southwest valley home Thursday morning was detained on a murder count, inning accordance with City Authorities.

John Fitzgerald Gonzalez, 53, who stated he was getting the couple’s 6-year-old son to take him to school, stated the female had actually pulled out a weapon and was fatally injured when it went off in the garage, which had its door shut, Lt. Dan McGrath stated Thursday afternoon.

She passed away shortly after coming to St. Rose Dominican Medical Facility– Siena School, McGrath said. Their kid, who was upstairs preparing for school, was not harmed and did not witness the shooting.

Court records show that the victim filed for divorce in late September and the couple had a short-term custody, visitation and child assistance hearing on Oct. 25. The matter was heard and dealt with, according to records.

Gonzalez is being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center on one count of murder, jail logs reveal.
