Guy passes away after standoff with officers in Henderson

Henderson Authorities Department reacted to the Hilton Garden Inn near Warm Springs Road and Stephanie Street after reports of shots fired Saturday early morning.

City of Henderson representative Kathleen Richards said authorities got a call at 9:15 a.m. of a guy who had actually fired shots inside the hotel.

SWAT arrived on scene around 10 a.m. to try to take the man into custody. The guy was restricted to one room, according to Williams.

The suspect was firing shots within his space and outside the window, threatening close-by businesses. A nearby childcare center was placed on alert with guidelines to shelter in location from authorities.

When the suspect emerged from his space he fired chance ats officers. Officers returned fire and hit the suspect.

The suspect, who is referred to as a man in in his mid to late 30s was transferred to Sunrise Medical facility and was later obvious dead.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will certainly launch the man’s identity.
