Las Vegas officer Charleston Hartfield put to rest

LAS VEGAS( FOX5) -. Las Vegas Metro police Officer Charleston Hartfield was laid to rest on Friday. Officer Hartfield lost his life while conserving others throughout a mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Celebration on Oct. 1.

Prior to the procession and funeral service, the marquees on the Las Vegas Strip showed homages to Officer Hartfield.

At 9:15 a.m., a police motorcade accompanied the fallen officer and his household from Palm Mortuary on North Main Street to the Central Church situated at 1001 New Beginnings Drive in Henderson.

The funeral service started at 11 a.m and a second procession, lead by an authorities motorcade, traveled from the church to the graveside service at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.

The graveside service consisted of the conventional making of honors, consisting of the presentation of the flag to the household, the playing of the Taps and bagpipes plus a flyover by Metro’s Air Assistance Area.

Motorists experienced hold-ups in and around the motorcade route, the church, and the graveside.
