Moms and dads detained after children discovered living in dirty, animal-hoarding home

title =”( Source: WTVC by means of CNN) “border =” 0″ width=”180″/ > (Source: WTVC via CNN). SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. (WTVC/CNN)– A mom and dad were arrested after their three children were found living in a house filled with garbage, feces and numerous ignored animals.

The children’s parents, Stacy and Dustin Tallent, both 31, were arrested on Monday and accuseded of exacerbated child neglect charges.

Authorities were carrying out a wellness check at their home in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee when they discovered the household living in “deplorable” conditions.

Officers found three young boys– ages 2, 2, and 5– in garbage-littered spaces with feces on the walls. At least one of the kids was locked in a space, resting on a mattress on the floor and surrounded by filth.

An overall of 20 animals were likewise gotten rid of from the house, police said. Half of those animals were dead and packed in a freezer. Amongst the dead were a rabbit, feline, 2 pets, five parakeets and two turtles, said Bob Citrullo executive director of the Humane Educational Society in Chattanooga.

” Our hope is that they weren’t ignored so bad where they died and they put them in the freezer,” said Citrullo.

4 pets, three cats, a python and a lizard were found alive. Citrullo described the animals as “very thin” and covered in parasites and fleas.

Police said the kids were required to a regional hospital and put into the custody of the state. The saved animals are being examined at the Humane Educational Society.
