It feels like just yesterday we were awaiting the opening of well known chef Masaharu Morimoto’s eponymous Las Vegas restaurant. However time flies when you’re having fun, and Morimoto is all about creating a great time– unforgettable, unique moments and flavors that cannot be reproduced anywhere else.
The Iron Chef touched down in Las Vegas to celebrate the restaurant’s 1 year anniversary and to discuss the success of yet another seriously well-known restaurant. “Everybody likes Las Vegas,” Morimoto informed Industry Weekly. “This is my dream come to life.”
Since opening his area at the MGM Grand in 2016, Morimoto says the essential question has constantly been, “How can I make my consumer pleased?” He does not follow patterns and explains himself as the conductor of an elaborate orchestra.
At 62, his health is a top priority. “I counted last year the number of days I remained at house and used my own pillow– 68 days,” he says. “I appreciate who I employ. Perhaps 150 people work here under the Morimoto name in Las Vegas, and [I have] more than 1,000 employees under the Morimoto name [worldwide] A lot of people are on my shoulders. I have to be healthy.”
The chef is so busy, he needed to sit out the upcoming season of Iron Chef to prepare for two brand-new dining establishment openings. While he might not appear on your television screen as quickly, he still intends to make an effect with his latest cookbook, Mastering the Art of Japanese Home Cooking. “People believe Japanese food and sushi is strange, but Japanese cooking ought to not be mysterious,” he states. “It’s simple! Attempt it.”
