Mother charged with leaving kid in hot car says police car is ‘too hot’ on way to jail

disregard after supposedly leaving her son in a hot car on June 30. (Source: Volusia County Corrections). SOUTH DAYTONA, Fla.– A Florida mom, who was arrested for leaving her 5-year-old son in a hot cars and truck, grumbled about it being” too hot” in a patrol car on her way to jail.

Colleen Walker, 30, invested about Thirty Minutes shopping at a Dollar General store on June 30 as her son waited for her inside of a hot automobile, WFTV reports. Cops said the temperature inside the cars and truck reached 107 degrees. Onlookers called 911 after witnessing the boy crying and yelling in the back seat. First responders rescued the 5-year-old, and apprehended his mother. While owning her to the police station, officers stated Walker grumbled about the temperature level inside of their team vehicle.

” She was complaining that the backseat of our patrol car was too hot on her method to the prison, and asked the officer to turn the Air Conditioning up,” Lt. Dan Dietrich informed WFTV.

Walker is charged with kid overlook. She might face up to five years in jail, if convicted.
