Motorcyclist eliminated in crash on 215 near Aliante Parkway


Nevada Highway Patrol has briefly closed eastbound lanes of the 215 near Aliante Parkway after an early morning casualty.

Trooper Loy Hixson with NHP stated the crash, which was in between a pickup truck and a motorbike, took place at 4:12 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities say the pickup was taking a trip westbound on 215 while 2 motorbikes were traveling eastbound. The pickup crossed over the 12-foot large center raised average into the path of the motorbikes.

Just one bike was able to avoid the truck.

The pickup struck the 2nd motorcycle and the rider was thrown from his bike. Both the truck and the motorbike ended up being engulfed in flames.

The motorbike rider, who officials state is a 40 year-old man from Pahrump, was obvious dead on scene.

A man and woman who were inside the pickup truck were transferred to UMC with non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers had actually all lanes resumed by 9 a.m. Saturday.
