. A motorcyclist was killed Sunday night after he was tossed through the window of an SUV owned by a believed drunk driver, according to City Authorities.
The crash happened about 7 p.m. on Windmill Lane near Bermuda Roadway, cops said.
James Vermillion made a left turn in a Ford Explorer in front of the motorcycle, which struck the passenger side of the SUV, according to police.
The 20-year-old Las Vegas guy riding the motorcycle was thrown through the front passenger side window, and his helmet struck Vermillion, seriously injuring his head and face, police said. The SUV continued then hit a parked vehicle, authorities said.
The motorcyclist was noticable dead at the scene, and Vermillion was taken to University Medical Center with major injuries, authorities stated. Vermillion revealed indications of problems and was booked in absentia on a count of DUI including a death, inning accordance with police.
