MTV commemorates summer viewing season with Film & & TV Awards

LOS ANGELES– MTV is declaring the start of summer seeing season with its Movie & & TELEVISION Awards.

Previously referred to as the MTV Film Awards, TELEVISION programs are freshly eligible for Golden Popcorn prizes at this year’s event, which will relay live Sunday from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

MTV is likewise breaking down gender barriers in its new format, with males and females contending together in the acting categories.

The program is maintaining its standard irreverence, however, with awards acknowledging the best hero, villain, kiss and duo across television and film. Numerous new categories were added this year: Best American Story, for the program or film that “showcases America at its best”; Finest Battle Versus the System, which commemorates underdog efforts and social justice; leading trending minute; and best musical moment.

The scary hit “Go out” leads all nominees with six bids, including movie of the year. “Beauty and the Monster” and the Netflix series “Complete stranger Things” have four elections each.

The cast of the “Quick and Furious” franchise will get the Generation Award, which Vin Diesel is set to accept.

Hosted by actor Adam Devine, the MTV Film & & TELEVISION Awards will also feature sneak peeks of expected films consisting of “Transformers: The Last Knight” and “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
