(Meredith )– Marquise Goodwin, a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers, caught an 83-yardtouchdown pass on Sunday, blew a kiss to the sky and dropped to his knees. The 36-year-old NFL star was grieving the loss of his newborn kid, who died simply hours prior. Goodwin waited up until after the video game to share the heartbreaking news on Instagram. He and his better half, Morgan, lost their early infant kid due to pregnancy complications. “Although we are injured, I am grateful for the experience and grateful that God blessed me with a wife as bold and resilient as Morgan,” he wrote.”

The discomfort (physically, mentally, and emotionally) that she has actually sustained boggles the mind. Please wish the Goodwin household.” Head coach Kyle Shanahan stated during a postgame press conference that Goodwin chose to play in Sunday’s game, regardless of his terrible loss.

” I know Marquise was harming bad, genuine bad, and I understand he will for a while,” stated Shanahan. “I know his better half will too.”

He continued, “He was harming, however he was determined he wished to play. Which’s something as a coach you appreciate.”

The 49ers went on to win their very first video game of the season, beating the New York Giants 31 to 21.
