If you’re looking for an ideal party host, look no further than Nick Cannon. The one-man entertainment empire has already begun a new summer swimming pool celebration series at World Hollywood Resort on the Las Vegas Strip, including plenty of music, enjoyable, special visitors and appearances from the Wild ‘N Out girls representing Cannon’s top-rated MTV comedy show.
“It’s more music-driven than comedy,” Cannon says. “I’m DJing and just bringing the ambiance for anybody who wishes to come and hang out in Vegas.”
Cannon maintains a quite stressful schedule nowadays. The audio release for this year’s Showtime stand-up comedy special Stand, Don’t Shoot lands on July 29, and his next feature film, King of the Dancehall, co-starring Whoopi Goldberg, Louis Gossett Jr. and Busta Rhymes, premieres on YouTube Red on August 2.
Cannon also popped up in Vegas recently at the new Sugar Factory at Style Show to reveal the pending arrival of Theatre Box, a complex entertainment center opening in San Diego next year and maybe eventually in Las Vegas. “It’s truly a one-stop shop, with a multiplex so you can dine in the restaurant then enjoy a motion picture or go to the sports bar, or strike the game, at one time. Ideally it will spread to Las Vegas and across the nation.”
Cannon states he enjoys to spending a few of his summer season vacay in Vegas, and it could be a sign of things to come. “We discuss everything the time, setting something up in Vegas, since I’ve shot different comedy shows there and done stand-up and different bar experiences,” he says. “I would like to broaden the Wild ‘N Out brand, due to the fact that it actually lends itself to [Vegas] with a mix of comedy, music, beautiful people and a strong range [show] aspect. It could be a truly well-rounded program.” Ultimate Swimming pool Party Series with Nick Cannon at Planet Hollywood Resort, July 9, 23 & & 30.
