North Las Vegas cops arrest suspect in corner store shooting

July 10, 2018 (NLVPD/ FOX5). LAS VEGAS( FOX5)- North Las Vegas authorities have actually detained a male in connection to a shooting that left a single person dead on Sunday night. Kerry Brock, 42, was apprehended Tuesday afternoon on the 2100 block of Venus Avenue, near Civic Center Drive and Cheyenne Opportunity. He was reserved in the Las Vegas City Prison on one count of murder with a deadly weapon for the death of a 39-year old guy.

Authorities initially reacted to reports of a shooting on July 8 at a corner store on the 2100 block of Cheyenne Avenue right before 11 p.m.

Officers said a spoken battle in between Brock and the victim escalated into a shooting. The unidentified victim was taken to a healthcare facility where he was pronounced dead.

Brock had left the scene prior to authorities arrived.

The Clark County Coroner’s workplace will release the identity of the victim after household alert.
