Police: 1 dead after man provides young child gun to chase victim

(AP)– Authorities say they have charged a guy with murder after he provided a 3-year-old young boy a weapon and informed him to go after the victim around the yard of a South Carolina home. Aiken County Constable’s Sgt. Stephen Shunn said witnesses informed deputies that 24-year-old Timothy Johnson was shot in the chest Tuesday afternoon after the gun fired while the kid was bring it outside a house in Warrenville.

Shunn stated in a declaration that 31-year-old Albert Davis is accuseded of murder, ownership of a taken handgun and adding to the delinquency of a small.

Shunn informed The Associated Press that deputies are still examining why Davis gave the kid the weapon and whether Davis was upset at Johnson.

Neither court nor jail records showed whether Davis has a lawyer.
