BALTIMORE (AP)– The boyfriend of a missing out on, pregnant Maryland teacher was engaged to another woman and sent text utilizing the teacher’s identity declaring he wasn’t the dad of her coming infant, according to court documents that charge him with killing her.
Among those texts to Laura Wallen’s sister declared the missing out on lady’s previous sweetheart was the father of her kid, an arrest warrant launched Thursday declared. The text misspelled the previous boyfriend’s first name, which police said added to doubts that the texts were truly from Wallen.
Tyler Tessier, 32, was arrested Wednesday evening and accuseded of first-degree murder in Wallen’s death. The high school instructor was 4 months pregnant, detectives stated.
Authorities found Wallen’s remains in a shallow grave in Damascus, Maryland, about 38 miles (61 kilometers) west of Washington. Police state they are waiting for autopsy results to determine how she was eliminated.
Wallen’s household reported her missing Sept. 5, when she didn’t appear for the first day of school. Her car was discovered Sept. 7 at apartment building in Howard County, not far from the high school where she taught.
Tessier offered various clashing declarations to investigators over the days after Wallen, 31, was reported missing out on, authorities said.
Wallen’s moms and dads spoke at a news conference Monday and announced a $25,000 benefit for details on her location. Tessier sat with the moms and dads, holding their hands, and wept through a quick statement. Manger stated Wednesday that Tessler’s participation in the news conference had been part of an authorities plan.
“It was a calculated decision made by detectives to have Tessier attend the event and speak,” Manger said. “It was maded with the approval and knowledge of the victim’s family.”
Manger said detectives wondered exactly what Tessier would say and how he would say it.
While Wallen was missing out on, Tessier was seen several times at the website where her body was found, police stated. Investigators acquired a search warrant for the residential or commercial property, Manger stated, and officers with cadaver dogs discovered the shallow grave.
Laura Wallen’s dad, Mark Wallen, said after a bail hearing Thursday for Tessier, that the suspect “is a beast. He’s a phony.”
Online court records don’t note a legal representative for Tessier, who is being held without bail.
