Reno bans brand-new strip clubs for 1 year

RENO– In hopes of limiting the oversaturation of downtown, the Reno City Council has voted to position a moratorium on new strip clubs throughout the city for one year.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that the city will make use of the year to study exactly what kind of limitations can be placed on adult businesses downtown through zoning and code modifications.

Councilwoman Neoma Jardon says the ban follows lots of problems about a strip club’s sign that is popular in the location. While there is nothing the city can do to remove the existing signs, the year of planning will assist avoid future problems.
