Las Vegas Metro authorities arrested a guy who allegedly sodomized and violently beat a boy at a northeast Las Vegas homeless camp.
Johnny Sanchez, 31, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on two counts; tried murder and sexual assault, inning accordance with prison records. Sanchez was implicated as the criminal in the rape and beating of an unknown 14-year-old young boy on July 4, 2018.
A police report stated Sanchez informed a witness he “killed a 14-year-old” as he walked down the street near East Carey Opportunity and Mt. Hood Street. The witness called cops and said Sanchez had blood all over his hands and shoes.
Numerous officers reacted to the call and discovered Sanchez in the 6000 block of Carlsbad Avenue at 1:51 p.m. He was using blue denims, no t-shirt and had visible tattoos on his back. He was also bring a black duffel bag, authorities stated.
Sanchez began babbling inaudible statements to police without being asked to speak. Officers stated they later deciphered his words after reviewing body camera footage. Sanchez apparently mumbled, “I don’t care devil gang,” and, “don’t do that I’m going to hit you till you fall.”
Sanchez told cops “a youngster remained in the street” and agreed to take them to the location in exchange for water.
At 2:40 p.m., officers discovered the victim at a homeless camp in the underpass of Sloan Lane and Judson Avenue. The teen was lying unconscious on the ground with a belt wrapped around his neck and his body covered in blood. He appeared to have considerable injuries all over his body however especially on his head. Cops said he only had a t-shirt on.
The young boy was described as being 5’6″ tall, about 140 pounds with a shaved head and groomed eyebrows.
Officers gathered over 40 items as evidence at the scene consisting of 2 prophylactics with traces of blood.
He was transported to University Medical Center in vital condition. Medical workers stated the teen had a nose fracture, damaged ribs, head injuries, a collapsed left lung, a jaw fracture, a split left ear lobe, indications of strangulation and a foreign metal object inside his skull in addition to internal hemorrhaging and numerous lacerations around his body, the report said.
Nurses likewise added that the boy had significant injury to his anus.
Sanchez was transported to the Northeast Area Command station for questioning where it was later determined he was not competent adequate to consult with detectives.
Cops stated Sanchez was hardly able to stand, was talking with himself and to imaginary people.
Although, detectives had the ability to swab parts of Sanchez’s body and take photographs after obtaining a warrant.
Sanchez is arranged to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 7 at 1:15 p.m.
