Richard '' Old Man ' Harrison of ' Pawn Stars ' remembered as generous, kind

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) –

Monday early morning everything at Gold and Silver Pawn in downtown Las Vegas looked the same, but it felt extremely various.

“It just feels emptier,” Laura Herlovich said. Emptier due to the fact that the store’s founder Richard Harrison won’t be coming in anymore. Harrison, 77, passed away early Monday early morning surrounded by friends and family.

A makeshift memorial was established for him inside the shop with some of his most memorable items.

“I saw the hat and the mug,” fan Angie Rodriguez stated.

Fans started streaming in early Monday morning to pay their aspects, while others dropped off items and flowers.

“It’s just unfortunate. Very unfortunate,” one fan could be heard saying.

It wasn’t simply an emotional time for the fans, employees were also noticeably shaken.

“I’m a little teary,” publicist for the store Laura Herlovich stated. Herlovich stated she worked for Harrison for a decade, and said entering into work today was hard.

“He was just such a character, such a love. He was constantly so offering, he would constantly begin a conversation by saying, ‘Exactly what can I provide for you? If there is anything I can ever do, let me understand.'”

Herlovich said Harrison was a family man, but loved his fans deeply.

“I would call him and state, ‘Hey, we have a Make-a-Wish boy coming in,’ and he would be here, all set and ecstatic to go, at 7 in the morning,” Herlovich stated.

Harrison started the pawn store more than Thirty Years ago in 1988 and turned it into a multi-million dollar service. In 2009, “Pawn Stars” debuted on History Channel and became a hit. Harrison’s shop in downtown Las Vegas ended up being a staple for tourists and fans of the program.

“It’s interesting to be here, however just so unfortunate,” fan Angie Rodriguez stated. Sad due to the fact that fans like Rodriguez stated they feel like they knew the old male, and loved following a show they felt they belonged of.

“He was just a remarkable guy,” Herlovich stated. “We’re going to miss him. He left his mark on everyone and we are actually going to miss him however we are simply pleased we had him in our lives.”

Harrison’s child Rick revealed his father’s death on social networks on Monday.

He was my hero and I was lucky to get an extremely cool ‘Old Man’ as my father. I was lucky enough to invest 15 years of my life working with the Old Male. He wasn’t simply a grandpa, he was genuinely a friend, also. I am genuinely blessed to have had him as a mentor. A post by Harrison’s boy Rick stated his dad passed away after a long battle with Parkinson’s illness. Harrison was a terrific grandfather. The reason for Harrison’s death has actually not been officially reported and services were pending.
