Backyard conflict leads to fatal east valley shooting

One person is dead after an east valley shooting early Saturday morning.

The shooting happened about 12:36 a.m. in the 4700 block of Yuma Avenue, near the crossway of Charleston and Nellis boulevards, according to Metro.

Officers responding to a report of gunshots discovered the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, depending on the yard of a residence.

Authorities stated the shooting happened throughout a conflict with 2 men in the backyard.

The two men ran away the scene and have actually not been recognized. No arrests had been made since early Saturday afternoon.

Detectives said the event was drug-related.
