Several Grammy winner Anita Baker thrilled her very first Repetition Theater audience at Wynn Las Vegas Friday night, taking the phase with an efficiency of “Woman Marmalade” before rolling out all her fan favorites and turning the glamorous room into a soul event. It was the first of 5 sold-out shows at Wynn for Baker, who’s concluding a dazzling phase career with her Farewell Concert Series tour this year. She’s back onstage August 29 and September 1 and 2 so strike those ticket apps if you wish to capture this famous vocalist live and face to face.

The two resident headliners who just recently returned to Vegas revealed extra dates over the weekend. Barry Manilow’s Westgate International Theater show is now selling tickets for efficiencies from September through February, and Barry’s on the books for dates each month through June. And Mariah Carey revealed 5 brand-new dates in the brand-new year for “The Butterfly Returns” at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. She’s back on the Strip this weekend with concerts on August 31 and September 1, 2, 5, 9 and 10, while tickets for her February shows will go on sale this Friday.

Las Vegas female, 65, dies in rollover crash near Baker

. A 65-year-old Las Vegas woman died in a rollover crash Wednesday night on Interstate 15 near Baker, Calif., according to the San Bernardino County Constable’s Department.

Chung Yu Shen was the right-front traveler in a 1999 Ford Explorer headed north on I-15 when the tread of the automobile’s right rear tire separated from the tire’s body, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The 69-year-old Las Vegas man driving the SUV lost control near Afton Canyon Roadway about 5:50 p.m., and the Ford headed into the center average, rolling over numerous times, the highway patrol said.

Shen was pronounced dead on scene, and the driver, who suffered significant injuries, was required to a regional hospital by helicopter, according to the highway patrol and the coroner’s department of the constable’s office.

Authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the event, the highway patrol said.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
