Think in hit-and-run that killed 3 kids gives conflicting statements to cops

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) –

A 28-year-old Las Vegas guy deals with 4 felony charges for running away the scene of a crash that eliminated 3 young boys and injured another last month.

City Lt. Peter Kisfalvi stated officers were contacted us to a mishap scene at 9:07 p.m. at the crossway of Desert Inn Road and Ocean Crest Street, near Nellis Boulevard.

Metro stated a group of boys were strolling on the walkway when Joseph Eskandarian, owning a 2007 Suzuki Forenza struck them as he attempted to pass another car on the shoulder. The three young boys eliminated were ages 12,13, and 14, while the fourth victim, a 13-year-old young boy, suffered a broken leg, according to Metro.

2 of the young boys, 12-year-old Danny and 14-year-old Ponchito Miramontes were bros, identified by their household. The 3rd kid eliminated has actually not been formally identified.

A witness saw Eskandarian flee from the scene and tried to follow him, police said. Officers said they discovered his wallet in the car, which had his name and address noted on a traffic ticket inside. Metro went to his house, found him there and questioned him.

Eskandarian told cops he ran home since “he understood he remained in big problem and wished to spend his last moments of flexibility with his household.”

However cops stated he did disappoint any signs of impairment. A cheek swab was taken to be evaluated.

At the scene, a light pole was also broken off its base, and pieces of the Suzuki and products from the young boys were found by police.

Eskandarian faces 8 to 80 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.
