PROVO, Utah (KSL/CNN)– A 5-year-old kid allegedly secured a basement by his parents and whose forced diet was mainly carrots, had an”orangey”tint to his skin when he was examined by physicians, according to a freshly unsealed search warrant. Clarissa Anne Tobiasson, 27, and Brett Parker Tobiasson, 31, were charged Aug. 9 in 4th District Court with kid abuse, a second-degree felony. The couple is accused of” disciplining “their adopted child by locking him in a basement space for many hours each day, typically without any light, and requiring him to consume a specific quantity of carrots every day, inning accordance with charging documents.
A just recently unsealed search warrant in 4th District Court entered into more information about the diet the Tobiassons apparently required upon the boy.
“The kid was required to eat a bowl or baggy of carrots and would not be provided anything else to consume or drink up until the carrots were gone. If the carrots were not eaten they would be conserved for the next meal then the next meal and often the next day. One night the family had ordered pizza and the child was just allowed to have carrots, and after that informed as soon as all the carrots were gone he could have pizza. Later the child was offered a brief time to end up the carrots and was then informed he did not consume them in time, therefore, he might not have pizza. He was informed by his father he would offer him pizza in the early morning, nevertheless, while being secured the room he had an accident in his trousers and was informed because of the mishap he might no longer have the pizza,” the warrant states.
