Caesars purchasing Centaur Holdings, adding 2 Indiana gambling establishments

New York City– Gambling establishment giant Caesars Home entertainment says it is buying gambling establishment and gaming business Centaur Holdings, obtaining new properties in Indiana.

Las Vegas-based Caesars stated Thursday it’s paying $1.7 billion in money for Centaur.

With the acquisition, Caesars will add two Indiana properties: Hoosier Park Racing and Casino in Anderson and the Indiana Grand Racing and Casino in Shelbyville. The homes use slots and electronic table video games, in addition to live and simulcast horse racing.

Caesars called central Indiana an appealing area for investment due to the fact that of its solid economy and since it’s not filled with gambling establishments.

Centaur, based in Indianapolis, serves more than 6.5 million guests each year throughout its residential or commercial properties.

Caesars operates 47 gambling establishments in 13 U.S. states and five countries. Its operating system emerged last month from more than 2 years of personal bankruptcy.

Janet Jackson checks out small youth home in Gary, Indiana

Canceled $30K wedding event becomes supper for Indiana homeless

INDIANAPOLIS– An Indiana lady didn’t desire her canceled $30,000 wedding to go to waste, so she threw a party for the homeless.

A bus pulled up to the fancy event center on Saturday that Sarah Cummins had reserved for the reception in Carmel, a suburban area simply north of Indianapolis. About a lots veterans from a local organization were amongst the visitors who dined on bourbon-glazed meatballs, roasted garlic bruschetta and wedding event cake.

Cummins informed the Indianapolis Star that she and her future husband cancelled the wedding event a week ago. She decreased to provide a reason, but she said they were left with a nonrefundable agreement for the Ritz Charles in Carmel and a plated supper for 170 visitors.

Cummins said she chose that rather than throw away the food she would bring some purpose to the occasion and gotten in touch with location homeless shelters. She cheerfully greeted and invited her visitors when they showed up to attend the Saturday celebration.

“For me, it was an opportunity to let these individuals understand they deserved to be at a location like this just as much as everyone else does,” Cummins stated.

Several regional companies and locals contributed fits, dresses and other items for the guests to wear.

Charlie Allen, who’s spent 3 months at a homeless objective, got a donated jacket.

“I didn’t have a sport coat,” he stated, pulling carefully at the lapels. “I think I look pretty nice in it.”

Cummins stated that when she approached Araujo about donating the dinner, he agreed to what he believed was a generous method to manage the scenario.

Federal, Indiana authorities raid home of Train spokesman Jared Fogle

ZIONSVILLE, Ind.– FBI agents and Indiana State Authorities robbed the house of Train dining establishment spokesperson Jared Fogle on Tuesday, getting rid of electronics from the equipment and browsing the house with a cops pet dog.

FBI Special representative Wendy Osborne stated the FBI was conducting an investigation in Zionsville, an affluent Indianapolis suburban area, area but would not say whether it involved Fogle or explain the nature of the examination.

Next-door neighbors confirmed the raid happened at the house of Fogle, 37, who became the restaurant chain’s pitchman after shedding 245 pounds more than 15 years earlier, in part by regularly consuming Subway sandwiches. Train started showcasing Fogle in commercials right after, and his story contributed in providing the sandwich chain an image as a healthy place to eat.

He has since worked to create awareness of childhood obesity through his Jared Foundation.

Calls to Fogle’s house went unanswered Tuesday. An agent for Train, Cindy Carrasquilla, did not respond to e-mails or phone messages looking for comment.

WTHR-TV and The Indianapolis Star reported Fogle was detained while electronic devices were gotten rid of from the house and examined inside a mobile forensics van Tuesday morning. Fogle was seen leaving the van.

Next-door neighbors said the family entertained often and would say hello there but that they didn’t see the couple outside a lot.

Jacob Schrader, 19, who lives throughout from Fogle’s home, stated the pitchman seems “like a beautiful private guy” which he ‘d just seen him about a lots times in the last 5 or six years.

“He’s like a jeopardized species or something like that,” Schrader stated.
