Shawn’s symptoms got worse on New Year’s Day. He was hurried to the health center after having problem breathing.

“They informed me he was in kidney failure,” Jennifer said. “His white count was through the roofing system, he has extreme pneumonia.”

Jennifer is documenting her husband’s progress on Facebook. Her friends and family likewise produced a campaign on YouCaring.com to raise money for medical expenditures.

“I still can’t believe this is happening,” she wrote in a post. “I hold on to every piece of positive development. I try not to due to the fact that we are still deep in the woods. Keep praying everyone. Please!!”

Shawn, a U.S. Navy veteran, is supposedly on dialysis and remains in the extensive care system.

Jennifer stated on top of dealing with her husband’s diagnosis, two of their children also evaluated favorable for the flu. She said her household decided versus the influenza shot but prompts other households to be careful.

“If you’re sick– I imply, the very first cough, I do not care if it’s not the flu– go get seen just in case. You never understand,”Jennifer told KSWB.

NEW YORK– This year’s influenza season is off to a flying start therefore far it appears to be dominated by a nasty bug.

Health authorities say the flu vaccine appears well matched to the infections making people sick, but it’s too early to tell how bad this season will be. The primary influenza bug this season tends to cause more deaths and hospitalizations and vaccines tend not to work also against this type.

Influenza began picking up last month. By the end of recently, seven states reported widespread flu activity: Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Virginia.

The majority of influenza seasons don’t truly start till around Christmas. That’s how last year’s influenza season played out.
