Metro Policeman injured in crash

. A City Law enforcement officer was hospitalized this morning after being T-boned while owning through an intersection in the northeast valley, cops said.

The police car had its lights and siren activated when it was hit about 6:30 a.m. at Rancho and Vegas drives, Lt. Charles Jenkins said. The officer suffered minor injuries, he stated.

The intersection was closed down after the crash and remained closed through 8:45 a.m., according to the Regional Transport Commission of Southern Nevada.

Spain: 13 injured as ferryboat knocks into port in Canary Islands

A single person was killed and 7 others were hurt in a crash in Pahrump on Saturday morning, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred about 10:40 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 160 and Bell Vista Opportunity.

Trooper Loy Hixson, of NHP, said a van with 5 people inside was heading north on the highway and made a left turn in front of a sport utility automobile. The SUV crashed into the traveler’s side of the van.

A lady who remained in the van died at the scene, Hixson said. The other 4 individuals inside were required to location hospitals for treatment.

Hixson said 3 individuals from the SUV were taken to location medical facilities for treatment of injuries that were not dangerous.

2 bicyclists injured after car crash in Henderson


HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) –

2 bicyclists were hurt Wednesday night after a vehicle struck them near the Anthem area of Henderson.

Michelle French, public info officers for Henderson police, stated a call of the occurrence was available in at 7:45 p.m. near Sun City Anthem Drive and Thunder Bay Avenue. Three bicyclists were riding in a single file when a driver struck the group.

A female rider was hurried to Dawn Trauma Healthcare facility with critical injuries, French said. A male rider sustained small injuries. Another rider with the group was not injured.

The motorist of the automobile involved stayed at the scene. Police did not believe speed or alcohol were factor in the event.

Mishap in mall parking lot leaves 1 dead, 1 injured


LAKE LAS VEGAS (FOX5) –

A mishap in the Las Vegas South Premium Outlets parking lot left a single person injured and another dead.

Authorities state a 2015 Polaris Slingshot tri-mobile went into the mall parking lot through the south driveway prior to 4 a.m. Saturday.

The three-wheeled car rose onto the pathway and then returned to the driveway before hitting a raised landscaped island. The automobile then returned onto the driveway where it reached a metal donation box that was next to a concrete flood control channel.

Police state the car then hit the channel and the effect triggered it to become airborne prior to landing on the car park. Clark County Fire Department responded to the scene and liberated the male driver and female traveler.

The guy was transported to UMC Trauma with vital injuries. The woman sustained significant injuries and was also transported.

The driver was pronounced dead at UMC Trauma soon after showing up.

Metro rescuing injured hiker at Ice Box Canyon

A hiker who fell Wednesday afternoon in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Location is being rescued by Metro’s search and rescue group.

Las Vegas police got a call prior to 12:30 p.m. reporting a hiker, whose age and gender were not readily available, fell in Ice Box Canyon and might have broken a leg or legs, Metro spokeswoman Officer Laura Meltzer stated.

It is uncertain how far the hiker fell, Meltzer said. Search and rescue teams were en route at 1:10 p.m.

1 injured, 1 detained in shooting near Rhodes Ranch Golf Club

Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting that left one person wounded and one jailed in the southwest valley Monday morning.

Authorities and medical crews were called at 7:38 a.m. to the 100 block of Uneven Putter Drive, near Rhodes Cattle ranch Golf Club, Metro stated.

It wasn’t right away clear what occurred, however the injured individual was taken to University Medical Center in “unidentified condition,” City said.

Lady, 31, seriously injured in crash on Durango Drive

Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015|12:33 p.m.

. A 31-year-old lady remains in critical condition after a single-vehicle crash in the northwest part of the valley today, according to Metro Police.

At 3:08 a.m., the lady was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla north on Durango Drive, just north of West Tropical Parkway, when for unknown reasons she struck the center typical then a 30-foot palm tree, cops said in a news release.

The woman, who was not wearing a safety belt, was tossed from the Toyota as it spun counter-clockwise far from the palm tree, the release stated.

The palm tree was overturned as a result of the effect.

2 prisoners injured in High Desert jail fight; 3rd dealt with

2 inmates were required to the hospital and one was treated by jail staffers Friday evening after a battle broke out at the High Desert State Prison.

Two inmates started battling about 7 p.m. in the general population yard as they were returning from dinner, the Nevada Department of Corrections stated in a press release.

Likewise according to the department:

A weapon post officer fired a blank popper round after the inmates overlooked officers’ commands to stop fighting.

An officer continued to command them to stop, and a “rubber round” was skipped into the fighting inmates, which stopped the scuffle.

The combating resumed after a 3rd inmate assaulted one of the other two prisoners.

The prisoners continued to fight until more live rounds were avoided into the fight. Staffers then separated the inmates.

Two inmates were brought to a health center by ambulance, with one returning to the prison later in the evening. Another prisoner stayed at the hospital for observation.

The 3rd inmate was treated by prison medical staffers and returned to his cell.

None of the inmates’ injuries was lethal.

The unit real estate the prisoners will continue to be on lockdown up until Monday, however the basic population lawn was taken off lockdown about 9 p.m. Friday.

Visitation at the prison will certainly not be impacted.
