5 killed, 1 hospitalized in 3-vehicle crash northwest of Las Vegas Valley

NYE COUNTY, NV (FOX5) –

A crash about 90 minutes northwest of the Las Vegas Valley left 5 individuals dead, authorities stated.

The Nye County Constable’s Office posted on Facebook stating they were assisting Nevada Highway Patrol in the Sunday afternoon crash. The workplace validated five people were killed and one other was injured.

“God has a bubble around her,” Crystal Taylor stated of her sis Wendy Caskey. “He isn’t completed with her yet.”

Caskey was the lone survivor of the crash.

The crash examination remained in the preliminary phase Sunday night, Trooper Travis Smaka with Nevada Highway Patrol stated, however he stated the crash included three cars.

A Nissan was traveling northbound behind a GMC truck, Smaka said, when it tried to pass the truck. That portion of road, one lane in each direction, was OKAY to pass.

Report: Group admitted to drinking prior to lethal northwest Valley rollover crash

Shane Willey, 33, of Las Vegas passed away Monday afternoon, the coroner said.

Metro police stated a Nevada Highway Patrol cannon fodder sergeant was stopped at a traffic signal heading west on Cheyenne Opportunity at Durango Drive.

NHP stated a maroon SUV heading east struck the front left side of the patrol vehicle, then likewise hit a medical van.

That SUV driver, Willey, might have suffered from a “medical episode” prior to the crash, NHP stated. He was required to Mountain View Healthcare facility and passed away, NHP said.

The NHP cannon fodder suffered minor injuries and was not taken to a medical facility, NHP stated.

Authorities: Bomb threat leaves northwest Las Vegas Walmart

180″/ > LAS VEGAS( FOX5) – A northwest Las Vegas grocery store got a bomb danger on Saturday morning, cops said.

Las Vegas City police officers were dispatched to reports of a bomb threat at a Walmart Super Center on 3041 Rainbow Boulevard, near Cheyenne Avenue at 9:55 a.m. City units supposedly browsed the store and did not find any bombs, according to Lt. Isaac Auten.

Walmart management chose to evacuate the store as a precaution, police stated.

No injuries were reported. City officers are on the scene investigating the preliminary danger.

Student apprehended after hazards against northwest valley middle school

. A 14-year-old student accused of making threats versus Ralph Cadwallader Intermediate school was apprehended on Friday, according to the Clark County School District.

The kid’s arrest came a day after a 16-year-old Rancho High School trainee was positioned in handcuffs for similar dangers and after a mass casualty shooting in Florida perpetrated by a previous trainee recently.

“The arrest offers us with an opportunity to advise moms and dads to have discussions with their kids about reporting any possible suspicious activity or habits to school administration and/or law enforcement,” stated Shannon Manning, Cadwallader assistant principal, in a letter to parents.

According to the letter from Sean Davis, the man approached a student in a red vehicle, but the student ran away and is safe. Law enforcement is examining the incident.

Daddy detained for killing 10-month-old child in northwest Las Vegas

180″/ > LAS VEGAS( FOX5)- A 31-year-old man was arrested Friday in Chicago for eliminating his 10-month-old child in northwest Las Vegas previously this week, inning accordance with Metro Authorities.

Eric Chu was arrested in Chicago “in connection to the murder.”

On Jan. 23, at about 4:51 p.m., LVMPD was called to the 9200 block of West Charleston Boulevard to respond to a 10-month-old child not breathing and a guy threatening medical staff. The child was taken to Summerlin Hospital with life threatening injuries “that seemed a result of battery,” City stated. The infant was later on taken to UMC.

The child died the next night. Authorities identified Chu as the suspect and determined he had actually run away Las Vegas. Metro’s Repeat Culprit Program determined Chu may have been headed to Chicago. United States Marshals discovered Chu in Chicago Friday and arrested him. He was waiting for extradition since Friday night.

Cops look for burglary suspect in northwest Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS( FOX5)-. An armed burglar is on the loose after stealing products from victims inside an organisation in northwest Las Vegas. Cops said they reacted to a break-in contact the 3000 block of North Rainbow Boulevard, near Cheyenne Avenue, on Nov. 2.

Victims were robbed at gunpoint at that place, according to City, with the burglar fleeing the scene prior to authorities arrival.

Authorities said the suspect was referred to as a man in his early 20s who was last seen wearing a black hoodie with a gold owl on the front, basketball shorts and white shoes.
