2 canines pass away, 1 injured after groomings at same PetSmart, owners say

Family upset after pet trampled to death at PetSmart grooming salon

(Meredith/CNN)– A household rages after their pet was apparently whipped to death in the grooming location of a PetSmart store in Pennsylvania.

“We dropped him off to get groomed, and we get a call that he’s dead,” Betty Miller told WNEP-TV. Miller stated she dropped off her 12-year-old Bichon called Brewster at a PetSmart in Dickson City on Nov. 1. A brief time later on, the veterinarian called to let her know that another canine

had actually attacked Brewster in the grooming hair salon. Her precious canine was noticable dead upon arrival at a veterinary health center minutes after the event.

“He was loving. He was mild. He was amusing. He was like a toy, and he enjoyed everyone,” Miller informed the news station. “It was hard, really, really hard. He’s been with us for 12 years. He was just a fantastic dog.”

PetSmart said it’s “really saddened” by the event and is examining whether there were any infractions of its policies and procedures.

We invite all dogs, despite their breed, into our grooming hair salons supplied they are well-behaved. We will remain in close contact with Brewster’s pet parent as we discover more.”
