The April 9 letter, “Tax cuts are valued,” is a marvel of mediocrity. The disgraceful and sordid history of trickle-down economics has apparently left the letter writer none the better. I suggest he check out “The Politics of Rich and Poor,” which clearly describes the essentials of how the middle class is being robbed and how wealth is methodically moved to corporations. He will discover how corporate lobbyists protected hefty tax breaks from Congress and after that ship their earnings overseas or buy overseas tax shelters. Deregulation and obscene tax cuts have provided these greedy anti-American conglomerates unchecked power– and political leaders are funded from corporate coffers, so they can not regulate (bite) the hand that feeds them.

American workers are not even getting the crumbs, to say nothing of how we are being stripped of medical insurance. Exploitation is a sin. Anybody who promotes this exploitation and benefits from it is guilty of making countless lives unpleasant and hopeless.
