Charleston, S.C., cops report ‘active shooter scenario’

CHARLESTON, S.C.– Authorities say they are examining a possible “active shooter” circumstance in downtown Charleston, South Carolina.

Police spokesman Charles Francis said a shooting was reported just after twelve noon on King Street, which is a row of restaurant and stores where tourists regularly collect.

He did not instantly report any injuries or info about a possible suspect. No other details were instantly offered.

Tom and Patsy Plant told The Post and Carrier of Charleston they were consuming at Virginia’s dining establishment and saw a man come out of the kitchen with a gun in his hand and said “there’s a brand-new manager in town.”

The couple said they overlooked a back door.

numerous hours of negotiation. Traffic was diverted to Las Vegas Boulevard via Cactus Avenue southbound and by means of Sloan Road northbound, according to City Police and the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Police said they did not see any weapon, but weren’t sure if he was armed.

According to Metro Police, the man was pursued by officers on a suspicious automobile call.

He was stoppeded at around 7:00 p.m.. A helicopter followed him the throughout the pursuit. He was the only one in the cars and truck and was driving on the incorrect side of the roadway for a brief time. He is also wanted for burglary, Metro said. Interstate 15 did not immediately reopen after the suspect’s arrest.

Set jailed in Lancaster County armed robbery, SWAT scenario

LANCASTER COUNTY, SC (WBTV) -. Two people were apprehended in an armed robbery in Lancaster County that occurred Monday night. Deputies say they were contacted us to a town house around 11:20 p.m. on Shoe Brook Roadway in Indian Land, where they found a 25-year-old man who stated he had actually just been robbed at gunpoint. The man stated he understood the robber, 24-year-old Morgan Joyce Varn, and that she welcomed him over. Jonathan Michael Robinson, 23, was also reportedly in the home, along with another woman and 2 guys.

The victim told cops Varn required his mobile phone and money while Robinson was armed with a pistol. Cops say Varn then smashed the screen on the phone and threatened the victim with an ashtray. That’s when the male left and called authorities.

After the suspects chose not to come out of the house, a SWAT scenario briefly got underway, cops say.

SWAT got in the home and took Varn and Robinson into custody. Authorities say throughout a search of the house, they discovered ammo, a handgun that was reported taken in a July car break-in, and a “significant” quantity of money.

Robinson was accuseded of armed robbery, kidnapping, and malicious injury to personal property.

” Varn signed an individual recognizance bond on the property damage charge, but bond was denied for Robinson and Varn on all the other charges,” authorities say.

No one was injured in the occurrence.
