Teams searching for guy who jumped off boat at Lake Mead

Rescue crews are trying to find a man who jumped off a boat at Lake Mead National Entertainment Location Sunday afternoon, park officials said.

The rescue group was about to make use of finder in the search, park service spokeswoman Christie Vanover stated about 4:15 p.m.

. The 24-year-old North Las Vegas male was putting on a life vest when he jumped, however it came off when he struck the water, park service spokeswoman Christie Vanover stated. He wasn’t seen coming back up.

National Park Service Rangers, and teams from the USA Coast Guard and Nevada Department of Wildlife were browsing near Boulder Basin, Vanover stated.

The guy is thought to be about a half mile from the shoreline, Vanover said. The location is 80 to 160-feet deep.

It was at first believed that the man they are looking for was 35 years old.

Teams working on brush fire from Laughlin aircraft crash that killed 1

The Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas authorities are responding to an aircraft crash in Laughlin that left at least one dead Sunday night.

Flames spread from the wreckage to surrounding brush. As of 7:30 p.m., the fire was growing and spreading north, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The crash occurred about 100 miles south of Las Vegas prior to 6 p.m. in Laughlin’s Huge Bend of the Colorado State Leisure Location, located at 4220 Needles Highway.

Allen Kenitzer with the Federal Air travel Administration on Sunday night stated that they knew the crash however didn’t have more details, including the situations of the crash or what type of aircraft was included.

Firemans at first stated a single aircraft was on fire with four passengers on board, one of whom died on the scene. Three people struggled with burns and helicopters from Grace Air and Care Air travel carried the patients to area medical facilities, the fire department stated. Among the travelers was caught in the plane for a time.

The condition of the clients was not instantly available.

The fire department stated they are working to protect structures and equipment that are threatened by the fire. A unified command of first responders from the Bullhead City Fire Department, CCFD, and Metro are working in collaboration on the incident.

Skies in the location of the crash were primarily clear and there were no significant weather conditions at the time of the crash, said Clay Morgan of the National Weather Service.
