(Meredith/CNN)– A household rages after their pet was apparently whipped to death in the grooming location of a PetSmart store in Pennsylvania.
“We dropped him off to get groomed, and we get a call that he’s dead,” Betty Miller told WNEP-TV. Miller stated she dropped off her 12-year-old Bichon called Brewster at a PetSmart in Dickson City on Nov. 1. A brief time later on, the veterinarian called to let her know that another canine
had actually attacked Brewster in the grooming hair salon. Her precious canine was noticable dead upon arrival at a veterinary health center minutes after the event.
“He was loving. He was mild. He was amusing. He was like a toy, and he enjoyed everyone,” Miller informed the news station. “It was hard, really, really hard. He’s been with us for 12 years. He was just a fantastic dog.”
Miller stated a pit bull assaulted Brewster. She stated she does not understand how the shop allowed the canine come near her family pet.
“Why would you wish to bring a pit bull past a small dog who’s actually just bait? He was bait,” Miller said.
After the freak accident, Miller said she’s heartbroken over her dog’s last moments.
“I felt so guilty the day it took place because we would say to him, ‘You wish to go bye-bye?’ And he ‘d hop because vehicle,” she stated. “He didn’t understand it was going to be his last flight.”
PetSmart said it’s “really saddened” by the event and is examining whether there were any infractions of its policies and procedures.
The company’s full statement to WNEP-TV reads:
“We are genuinely saddened by the loss of Brewster.
