LAS VEGAS (FOX5) –
2 days after the mass shooting on the Strip many people were still aiming to process exactly what they saw.
A valley lady who was inside the Mandalay Bay Sunday night captured video of people running and falling to the ground.
Kristi Moore had just stepped outside on the terrace at the Foundation Room inside the Mandalay Bay when she started hearing gunfire.
“All you here is pow just fire after fire of gunshots,” she stated.
In disbelief, she took out her cellular phone and began filming.
“We examine and see people running at the celebration campground you see individuals running you see individuals dropping to the ground,” she said.
Then a SWAT group burst through the doors at the Foundation Space, telling everyone to obtain down.
“We didn’t understand that it was the swat team they didn’t state it’s the cops department its the SWAT group they just came in and informed us to get to the ground get on our hands face first, a couple thought possibly it was the shooter so they started tossing stuff at the swat team which’s when they said who they were,” she said.
Moore and everyone else inside the Structure room where told to sit tight. They remained there for 10 hours, paying attention to authorities scanners to learn exactly what was going on.
“There was perhaps 100, 125 individuals and all of us just snuggled up and slept and slept on the sofas on the floorings we were sharing battery chargers for our phones sharing anything and whatever we might just to aim to make everybody comfy,” she said.
She stated staff members at Mandalay Bay fed everybody and comforted them.
“I believe he was the main security person for Mandalay Bay, he came in and gave a little speech and said my partner works here, she’s alive and I want you all to know we ended up being a family last night that I like all of you,” she said.
And while she’s appreciative she wasn’t at the Route 91 Harvest celebration that she originally prepared to participate in, she stated she’s haunted by the scary she experienced Sunday night.
“It was the scariest day of my life. Today I’m not consuming I’m not sleeping, whenever I close my eyes I still hear the gunshots. I still see the people running and individuals being up to the ground,” Moore stated.
