Metro squad cars block the streets as officers investigate a fatal crash in east Las Vegas on Sept. 30, 2017
. (Kurt Rempe/FOX5). LAS VEGAS( FOX5)-. Las Vegas police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that took the lives of three juveniles Saturday night in the east part of town. City Lt. Peter Kisfalvi said officers were contacted us to a mishap scene at 9:07 p.m. at the crossway of Desert Inn Roadway and Ocean Crest Street, near Nellis Boulevard.
Metro stated a group of kids were strolling on the pathway when a 2007 Suzuki Forenza struck them as it aimed to pass another vehicle on the shoulder. 3 of them were fatally hurt in the impact and a fourth was carried to the medical facility.
The 3 deceased were ages 12,13, and 14, while the fourth victim, a 13-year-old boy, suffered serious injuries but was expected to make it through, according to City.
Witnesses notified authorities that the motorist of the lorry escaped from the scene after the crash and eliminated his clothes while running through the nearby area.
The suspected driver was ultimately taken into cops custody during the overnight hours as Metro K-9 systems, together with extra officers, browsed the surrounding locations.
Sunday, authorities determined the suspect as 28-year-old Joseph Eskandarian, of Las Vegas.
Cops said even more information will be launched on this incident.
