LONDON– Police said a tiger killed a female zookeeper Monday at a zoo 130 kilometers (80 miles) north of London.
“A tiger had actually gone into an enclosure with a keeper. Sadly the female zookeeper passed away at the scene,” Cambridgeshire Cops stated in a statement.
Authorities said they were called to Hamerton Zoo Park late Monday early morning.
The tiger never left from the enclosure, and police stated foul play was not presumed in the keeper’s death.
Visitors were left when the event began and an air ambulance was summoned to provide emergency help for the victim.
An eyewitness states visitors were gotten rid of calmly and that there was no panic.
Police did not launch details about the tiger.
