WASHINGTON– President Donald Trump says he’ll check out hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico next Tuesday.
Trump revealed the visit after the administration came under criticism for its response to the damage on the island that is home to more than 3 million U.S. residents. The island has actually been coping with scarcities of food, drinking water, electrical power and different types of interaction after Cyclone Maria struck previously this month.
Trump said Tuesday is the earliest he can visit without disrupting healing operations.
He says he might also visit the United States Virgin Islands.
Trump states Puerto Rico is necessary to him. He states Puerto Ricans are “terrific individuals and we have to assist them.”
