(Miami-Dade’s State Attorney’s Office). (Meredith)– Newly-released surveillance video footage reveals a police officer beating his 14-year-old daughter inside her school’s main office. Miami-Dade policemans Raymond Rosario told private investigators he struck the teen after she “disrespected her instructor” at Pinecrest Cove Preparatory Academy, according to an arrest report acquired by the Miami
Herald. The incident occurred on March 19 when an instructor called Rosario to tell him about his child’s behavior.
Monitoring video, released by the Miami-Dade’s State Lawyer’s Workplace, reveals Rosario slapping his daughter in the face, grabbing her by the hair and striking her twice on the legs with a belt.
Staff members did not step in at the time but eventually reported the occurrence to the Florida Department of Kid and Families.
Rosario ultimately gave up to authorities for child abuse without any great bodily damage on April 2.
The Miami-Dade Authorities Department also suspended him with pay pending an examination.
His next court hearing is set up for Tuesday.
