He’s carried out more than 30,000 live shows on the Las Vegas Strip but 76-year-old legend Wayne Newton has more to share.

“Mr. Las Vegas” will begin a brand-new headlining residency at Caesars Palace’s frozen-in-time lounge Cleopatra’s Barge on January 28. Tickets go on sale January 5 with show times set for 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

Newton, who will commemorate his 60th anniversary playing Vegas in May, has been performing his “Up Close & & Personal” show, an intimate production full of favorite tunes, storytelling and audience interaction, at the Windows Display room at Bally’s because the spring of 2016. That resort home, likewise owned and operated by Caesars Home entertainment, is currently going through a home entertainment renovation; the Windows Showroom is now home to magicians Frederic Da Silva and Xavier Mortimer while the Back Room space hosts “X Rocks” and “The Miss Behave Gameshow” while the former Jubilee Theater is being transformed to accommodate the upcoming “Nitro Circus Las Vegas” stunt program.

Newton has starred at the Flamingo, the Stardust, Caesars Palace and the Las Vegas Hilton and co-owned the Aladdin for a couple years in the early 1980s. He helped open T-Mobile Arena with the Killers in 2016. He remains the USO’s Celebrity Circle Chairman and has actually hosted numerous programs for U.S. troops in battle zone and overseas.

Cleopatra’s Barge recently closed out a limited run of programs from Paul Shaffer and was likewise house to “The Mixed drink Cabaret.” The David Perrico Pop Strings Orchestra takes the Barge phase Friday and Saturday nights at 10 p.m. after the 8 p.m. Pop 40 act. Puddles Pity Celebration, the seven-foot-tall singing clown just recently seen on “America’s Got Talent,” will perform at the lounge January 17-19, 24-26 and February 7-9.
