The New york city Yankees honored fallen North Las Vegas Cops Detective Chad Parque Tuesday night by displaying his photo and name on a jumbotron at Yankee Arena as his favorite team took on the Cincinnati Reds.
“The Yankees Remember Detective Chad Parque, North Las Vegas PD,” read one of 2 screens where his name was shown.
“We thank the New York Yankees for honoring our fallen sibling tonight. The Yankees was Detective Parque’s favorite group & & he constantly dreamed of participating in a video game. Now he has. #Yankees #NLVPD,” read a social media post by city police.
Parque, 32, died on Jan. 7, numerous hours after his squad car was struck by a wrong-way chauffeur as the investigator left the North Las Vegas Justice Court while on responsibility. He was a 10-year veteran.
A photo montage in the video during a Southern Nevada funeral showed Parque and his little child walking upstairs together in vertical white-and-black removed jerseys.
The Yankees beat the Reds 4-2.
