Wynn Las Vegas just recently scrubbed its Zoozacrackers Deli in order to produce a new food buddy to align with its transformed sportsbook– and the outcome is a fresh-feeling café available to the gambling establishment and the book, as roomy and elegant as a quick-bite area can be.
However Charlie’s is not a deli– the pastrami, corned beef and bagels are all gone, replaced by the Wynn version of sport-pub grub. Nachos ($16) are packed with cheddar, poblano crema and guacamole, and sliders come as a six-pack ($24) stacked with American cheese, onions and pickles on sweet Hawaiian rolls. There’s clam chowder, traditional Buffalo wings, a pulled pork sub ($16) and barbecue sauce-glazed meatloaf with cheesy mashed potatoes ($23), but if you’re catching a video game and picking your group, you might be in the state of mind for a burger, and if so, you remain in luck.
Although the property-wide devotion to scrumptious vegan consumes might lure you to attempt the Wynn Hamburger ($15), which features a vegan chocolate shake and french fries, it’s my responsibility to let you know you’re missing out if you do not feast on the Black & & Blue ($18). Secret to this masterpiece are the fluffy black pepper challah bun, the tangy dijoinaise and the perfect fried egg. The abundant taste profile is completed by thick bacon, velvety blue cheese, raw red onions and crispy fried yellow onions. The catch, however, is that you still have to purchase a side of fries ($8), a pound of thick-cut potatoes with pillowy insides and crisp edges. Extreme, yes, however worth it.
